|DLRE shared the amazing saltwater lamp|
at Ubin Open House 2015.
Specially for Pesta Ubin, DLRE is also bringing the coolest green technology in town: the LED Green Lantern. The LED Green Lantern is powered by seawater or salt water, which can also be used to charge an of your USB devices!
Through the effective use of ‘state-of-the-art’ smart grid features, solar panels, bio-diesel enabled generators, and energy storage, the Pulau Ubin micro-grid provides cleaner, cheaper and more stable electricity supply to 30 businesses and residents in Ubin Town. Now they no longer have to use individual noisy generators with diesel imported from the mainland for basic lighting and ventilation purposes.
