21 May (Sat): Coastal Clean Up with Marine Conservation Group, Nature Society (Singapore)

Make a difference for Pulau Ubin, globally classified as an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (IBA). Join us as we carry out coastal clean-ups to remove abandoned drift nets and marine debris that choke up the Ubin coastline. It also ensures that our wildlife have the proper environment to thrive.




Date: 21 May (Sat)
Time: 3.30pm - 6.30pm
Meeting point: Changi Point Ferry Terminal (Changi Village). More on how to get to Ubin.

Cost: The activity is free but volunteers will have to make their own way to Pulau Ubin ($6 for a two-way bumboat ride) and pay for van travel ($4 for two-way van ride).

Maximum 24 persons.

What happened ....

A total of 24 volunteers comprising 19 adults and 5 children helped clear 65kgs of abandoned nets and 135.5kgs of trash, excluding 2 tires and 5 big plastic containers. Bravo!
