The intricate map is full of details of Ubin kampungs, places, people. Some of which are already lost. Also, the amazing mangroves, forests and wildlife that abound on the island and in the waters around it.

It takes hours to colour the map! Come to Uncle Lim's shop to colour a shared copy of the map with everyone. This colouring activity is free. If you want a map of your own, limited copies are for sale (see below.)

Pulau Ubin is home to amazing animals! Did you know that the Greater Mousedeer was thought 'probably extinct' in Singapore? Until it was sighted on Pulau Ubin by scientists, for the first time in 80 years.

This activity is part of the Singapore HeritageFest 2016, which is a standalone annual Singapore-wide festival in its 13th year.

15 May (Sun): Pesta Ubin Run

Join this free 5km scenic run which brings you through rustic landmarks in Pulau Ubin. Run, Learn, Explore!


Starting off from Ubin Town at the Assembly Area, the route leads the runners through the Sensory Trail (first pit-stop) where we will learn more about the interesting facts about the Sensory Trail.

21 May (Sat): Coastal Cleanup with Sea Shepherd at Jelutong Beach

CANCELLED due to lack of response. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Get hands-on experience and help keep our shores clean. You will learn how trash is affecting marine life, as well as how Singapore manages its trash. You will also have fun as we will be on the look out for interesting and weird finds amongst the trash!

21 May (Sat): Coastal Clean Up with Marine Conservation Group, Nature Society (Singapore)

Make a difference for Pulau Ubin, globally classified as an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (IBA). Join us as we carry out coastal clean-ups to remove abandoned drift nets and marine debris that choke up the Ubin coastline. It also ensures that our wildlife have the proper environment to thrive.



20-25 May: Learn more about the Tua Pek Kong Festival with the Singapore Heritage Society

On the fourth month of the Lunar calendar, when the moon is full, Pulau Ubin bursts with celebrations!

The Ubin Wayang Stage comes alive during Tua Pek Kong's birthday.

For six days and six nights, the birthday of Tua Pek Kong is honoured with colourful festivities. Ubin Jetty is decked out in colourful flags and lanterns, and Ubin Town is host to lavish rituals. The ancient Wayang Stage at Ubin Town comes alive with traditional opera in glittering costumes as well as more modern vibrant celebrations. Pilgrims and worshippers make their way to Ubin to celebrate.

Specially for Pesta Ubin, the Singapore Heritage Society provides a wonderful booklet to help visitors understand the Tua Pek Kong Festival better!

29 May (Sun): Birdwatching with Nature Society (Singapore) Bird Group

Experienced guides from the Nature Society (Singapore) Bird Group will lead this special Pesta Ubin birdwatching walk at Pulau Ubin, an island that never fails to surprise.

you are likely to spot during this walk.

There are always new things waiting to be discovered. As we take a 3-hour walk through coastal/mangrove and countryside habitats, we will look out for island specialties including the Red Junglefowl, Oriental Pied Hornbill and the globally-endangered Straw-headed Bulbul.

See the true beauty of the night sky! The dark skies of Pulau Ubin has less light pollution and thus allow us to better gaze at the stars.

Using their telescopes, the NUS Astronomical Society will point out to you popular astronomical objects visible from Singapore. Also learn about astrophotography, that is, how to photograph these astronomical objects. Gain a new appreciation for a dark sky site like Pulau Ubin!

4 Jun (Sat): Fly Fishing Demo and Clinic with the Gamefish And Aquatic Rehabilitation Society

Sustainable fishing can be fun! Learn more about fly fishing techniques from the volunteers of the Gamefish And Aquatic Rehabilitation Society (GARS). Their mission is the preservation and restoration of freshwater/saltwater habitats, and to promote responsible and sustainable fishing.
