14-15 May (Sat): Weekend of Singapore HeritageFest at Pulau Ubin

These activities are part of the Singapore HeritageFest 2016, which is a standalone annual Singapore-wide festival in its 13th year.

Thanks to Singapore HeritageFest 2016, enjoy these special activities by experts to get a glimpse of a side of Pulau Ubin you never knew! Explore the western tip of Pulau Ubin, go on a specialist heritage tour, join the Ubin Experience tour, or learn kampung cooking in a 100-year old kampung house.

Adventure Heritage Trail with Outward Bound Singapore
Explore the rugged home grounds of Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) at the western tip of Pulau Ubin. This guided hike through the forests will be conducted by professional OBS instructors, and is a rare opportunity to explore hidden shrines and relics of what was once the largest a rubber plantation on the island.

Specialist Tour by Anthropologist Dr Vivienne Wee
Join anthropologist Dr Vivienne Wee for a specialist tour of Pulau Ubin’s significant sites, as she shares her insights and experiences on the island when conducting research commissioned by the National Heritage Board.

Ubin Experience Tour
Led by volunteers from the National Heritage Board and NParks, this new tour brings participants on an exciting tour of Pulau Ubin’s unique sites via an island taxi van. These little-known sites include the mysterious German Girl Shrine, a unique Tudor-style house with a fireplace and the beautiful Pekan Quarry lake.

Time: 9.30am, 2.30pm and 4.30pm

Cooking Class with Cookery Magic
Learn how to make nasi kerabu and ice kachang in this hands-on cooking experience held in a 100-year-old kampung house! You’ll also get to meet the owners of the kampung house and hear their stories of island life.
