4 Jun (Sat): Celebrate Ubin's Singapore Specials with SOSD

Pulau Ubin's community dogs exemplify the kampung spirit, and live the "Ubin Way" of life. Come celebrate Ubin's Singapore Specials. Say hello to the friendly Ubin Kampong Dogs, who are regarded by residents and visitors alike as ambassadors of this island.

Learn more about SOSD's efforts in Ubin: Project SOUND (Sterilisation of Ubin and Neighbouring Dogs) seeks to trap-neuter-release-manage dogs from Ubin and neighbouring fishfarms. SOSD also rescues and evacuates dogs requiring emergency treatment against silent killers such as heartworm, tick fever and other serious injuries.

Also, join in our "Kampong Dog Photo Challenge"! Just Snap-Caption-Hashtag-Post-on-Instagram any photo taken in Ubin, on 4 Jun (Sat), with at least one Kampong Dog in the photo. Stand to chance to win prizes, but more importantly, the Ubin Kampong Dogs get to shine in your work of art.

Ubin's Kampung Dogs celebrate with scarves!

Some of the many doggie photos taken for the SOSD kampung dog photo competition.

It's been at least a decade since I last visited Pulau Ubin. But this time, these doggies made a significant impression (along w the huge range of activities available). They were the residents that werent afraid of cars, roam around freely, drinking water from the ground.... But yet, they were friendly to us strangers. PS: they are up for adoption. #adoptabubindog #sosd #sosdubindogs
